Backhoe Bucket Repair For Beyond Blue
When Razorback Construction was approached by a high profile client for scheduled maintenance on a Liebherr R9800 Backhoe hydraulic excavator bucket it was suggested we make some bold creative choices with the aesthetic design. The Liebherr R9800 is the world’s third-biggest excavator in service, and we wanted to make sure it would get crews on-site talking about more than just its size. The Liebherr R9800 bucket needed to be able to stand up to some of Western Australia’s toughest conditions in some of the most remote parts of the state, but we wanted to make sure it not only stood out but stood out for a great cause in Beyond Blue.
Beyond Blue is an independent Australian not-for-profit health charity established to promote good mental health. In 2018 Australians availed of Beyond Blue’s support services over 190,000 times. In Australia, it’s estimated that more than 45% of people will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime. Razorback Construction was inspired heavily by the Blue Tree Project, a mental health awareness campaign launched to promote mental health and suicide awareness in regional Australia.
Mental Health and the Mining Industry
Razorback Construction’s close relationship with the mining industry means we are particularly aware of the mental health challenges workers in the industry face. With someone in the mining and resources industry taking their own lives every second day on average, Razorback jumped at the opportunity to raise awareness with this backhoe bucket project, painting it a royal blue, accented by light blue teeth and Beyond Blue stencilled on to the bucket. Getting to put our rigorous maintenance standards to the test was an exciting challenge for us, but having the ability to support a great cause in Men’s Health Awareness Month and Beyond Blue in the process made this project all the more exciting for us.
